MENTAL WORKOUTS

Mental workouts our daily commitments to be able to progress. Just as one would go to the gym or go to work everyday you could add into your daily schedule contemplative practices to be well onto a road to provide a great deal of ease and comfort to the psycho-spiritual. The practices are done by meditation, relaxation, stillness, solitude, and even yoga. Remember it is only a few minutes out of our very busy lives to take a 5 minute breather to relieve some suffering and stress through looking within.

LOVING-KINDNESS

This exercise is one that needs to be practiced everyday even if you only have a few minutes I believe it would be beneficial to feel others suffering and redirect it into all the love and compassion you can give to others. You may want to bare tiny gifts in material items, in thought full suggestions, or even in a simple soft touch whatever it may be use the freedom you have to choose LOVE! This will truly be the success to the happiness, health, and wholeness for your interpersonal self.

The Crime of the Century

Wow that was pretty amazing! I felt the red light and imaged it was rod that grounded my whole body to the floor except for my feet. When the guide mentioned to think of a red object all I could think of was an apple with a square window on the top of it, this allowed the red light to beam through to my right foot and then the roots were planted. I was absolutely melted to the floor. After we went through the next 3 colors of orange, yellow, and emerald green I was so relaxed and each part of my body was connected by the rays and actually floating in the air but it was over the crystal clear blue sparkling water. This was my purpose and I was so worthy of enjoying every minute. At one point I remember sending a smirky smile to my daughter Cinnamon because she was trying her hardest to distract me by singing a sweet song in my ear. Then I fell back into being relaxed with the beaming light that was coming out of my brain it was so beautiful and strong I felt like it was trying to detach my head from my body, but then I realized it really wasn’t doing that at all because then all the colors became one and there was just me. Thank you for letting me share my experience with all of you and I hope that everyone had a chance to relax and imaging. Jewel

Self Reflection

Health Reflection:

A. Physical Well-Being 9,
At 33 I am in better shape physically than I have ever been in my life before, I dedicate my self to a healthy athletic lifestyle. The great thing about physical well being is once you get to a certain level it isn't hard to maintain, but it does take a lot of effort and long hours to incorporate the right amount of exercise and other physical activities as well as a proper meal plan in your everyday life to ensure this optimal health. The reason I rate a 9 is because I believe there is always room for improvement.

B. Spiritual Well- Being 7,
Haven't quite hit this optimal aspect of my journey but I do understand that their is a great divine inside all of us and we are giving the free will to choose, and when my choices do not necessarily go in a natural flow I know I do not have to suffer and I can choose again. I have been practicing and learning everyday the spirituality in me and in my friends and family.

C. Psychological Well-Being 7,
I'm taking the same rating as spiritual, I believe it takes me some time to put the pieces together, I have lapse of depression, anxiety, and loneliness but, they do not last long and I always find the answers I am looking for with in myself or with a little help from my friends.

Goals:

My first goal for my physical well-being is to incorporate more flexibility exercises in my routines such as go to yoga at least 2 times a week and on my rest and one hour to just stretching every muscle in my body, I intend to also work closer on my stabilizing muscles in my lower back and core area by increasing my swimming time by an hour.

My second goal for my spiritual well-being is to continue to meditate and create the stillness and solitude needed to clear the mind and body to reflect back or into all the experiences that I was apart of for the day.

My third goal for my psychological well-being is to continue to use my witnessing mind to observe all aspects of my surroundings by doing so I will be able to keep my thoughts in the present moment and in the long run understand that letting go of a self-centered attitude will bring rewards and help build character releasing me from the depression, anxiety, and loneliness feelings that only I have created fro myself. I will also make sure I go to see my life coach twice a week because I like to inquire all the guidance I can get my hands on.

Activities:

I have already stated the activities that I plan on attending in my goals. How I am going to get there is by taking the time to sit down every Sunday night and write in my weekly planner my scheduled workouts, school time, mommy time, my meal plan, and time for self. This way I will have no conflict in between and even if one thing doesn't go as planned at least I understand that I took the time to make an outline. This will help relieve stress because I went through the organization process.

The Reflection on Relaxtion

After listening to the audio file on relaxation, I quickly realized that I could not take this serious in my own home, especially with all the distractions of my crazy neighbors. I then took the wellness tip that our professor posted and went to the greatest place on earth: the BEACH! Closed my eyes, sat up straight, and listened to the waves as they unfolded along the shore line. With the knowledge I had from the exercise I created my own sound of music. That completely relaxed all the the muscle tension and worries I had from a long day. I recommend that everyone take that little break in their everyday routine to reflect on the inner self.

Welcome Dream it! Experience it! Love it! Life!

This is my life and I don't want to miss it! So lets explore together the beauty and goodness that we all have to offer. My name is Jewel and my right hand little girl is Cinnamon. Together we are creating the possibilities for adventure, dreams, new experiences, and life long companionship as mommy and daughter. I welcome you to take the steps in the journey with us through mind, body, and spirit.
