The Reflection on Relaxtion
After listening to the audio file on relaxation, I quickly realized that I could not take this serious in my own home, especially with all the distractions of my crazy neighbors. I then took the wellness tip that our professor posted and went to the greatest place on earth: the BEACH! Closed my eyes, sat up straight, and listened to the waves as they unfolded along the shore line. With the knowledge I had from the exercise I created my own sound of music. That completely relaxed all the the muscle tension and worries I had from a long day. I recommend that everyone take that little break in their everyday routine to reflect on the inner self.

Is that crazy neighbor me???
ReplyDeleteThis was a great read. I will have to try this exercise out myself sometime!
ReplyDeleteI love it!!!! I do this all the time! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteHey Merricks,
DeleteLove you guys! Thank you for the support. Jewel
I don't know if I had a hard time taking it serious, but I did have a hard time having faith in it. I began to relax and then all of the sudden I had ADD and couldn't hold still. I finally had to sit up straight and shake out my arms and legs. After getting chills for about five minutes, I calmed down and relaxed. Not the effect I was going for at all!
ReplyDeleteAwe Staci, I understand the ADD, I like to call it being a butterfly. What was going through your mind when you were getting chills up your body, this seems to be just another way to connect the mind/body theory. Thank you for your post.
DeleteHi Jewel,
ReplyDeleteWhile reading your blog I thought about my own experience. I too found it to hectic when I first tried to listen to it. However I didn't need to leave my home, I just waited for the house to get quiet. I listened early in the morning after the kids had gone to school, my neice had gone to work, and the dogs had been walked, feed, and put in the den. I turned out to be an enjoyable experience and left me feeling energized. Enjoyed your post.

Hello Teal,
DeleteI just wanted to say first of all I really like your name sounds so colorful.:)I am glad that you were able to energize yourself after the very busy morning you had taking care of your family. Good job!Thank you for sharing your experience with me. Jewel
Hi Jewel,
ReplyDeleteYou have the same first and last name of one of my aunts. That is neat. I like your positive outlook on life. WHat a great idea to do your relaxation technique at the beach. I bet that was an amazing, relaxing experience. If I could only do this exercise daily, I know my life would be different and for the better. I tend to get stressed eaily, so I know I need to incoporate something positive and beneficial for my health. Thanks for your post! Have a great week!!

Hello Angela,
DeleteTell your aunt she has the best name ever! I thank you for the positive reinforcement.Everything we do in our life just takes a little effort and a lot of practice. There is no reason you couldn't incorporate the relaxation technique in your every day life!!Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me. Jewel
Hi Jewel
ReplyDeleteWell, now I want to go to the beach and do the same. But, it's late right now so that wont happen, LOL. However, night time is my relaxing time. I lay in bed and start to relax from my toes up. I will focus on them and work up slowly. Of course I dont really get past my kness because I fall asleep.
Pam
Hello Pam,
ReplyDeleteI really like your idea of taking the time to lay in your bed clear your thoughts and be totally conscious of where all the extremities lie in space and using that mindful awareness to relax each part. Good advice!! Thank you Jewel
